Position Title: Seasonal CSA Grower   

Job Summary: Under general direction of the CSA Farm Manager, this position works in all aspects of small-scale sustainable food production.  Job includes but is not limited to:  propagation, mulching, weeding, watering, seeding, trellising, harvesting and other on-going tasks associated with vegetable production.  

This position is 35 to 40 hours a week.  It is from May to October.

Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or minimum three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to read and understand instructions, simple diagrams and schematics. Must be able to read and understand toxin labels. Must possess valid Colorado Drivers License. Must have some working knowledge of machinery (mowers, trimmers roto-tillers, and small engines). Three months experience in similar production agriculture environment.

NEW POSITION! 

Job Title: Farm Stand Coordinator  
Duration: May - October 2015 (24-30 hrs a week)  
Position Type: Part-time  
Job Summary: This position is responsible for the coordination of all aspects of weekly farm stands operating in assigned Denver neighborhoods and works alongside the Denver Botanic Gardens management to distribute/sell produce in “food desert” areas.

As such the incumbent will be the face of the Denver Botanic Gardens’ Farm Stand program to the majority of participants/customers, community partners and volunteers. Not only does this position coordinate the farm stand operations, this position also coordinates the volunteers who will work at the farm stands ranging from high school kids to veterans to educational partnerships. Must be comfortable working with culturally and socio/economically diverse groups.    

Qualifications: Minimum 2 years or more of college course work in community engagement, education, food systems or urban farming related areas and a minimum of two season’s related experience working in food systems, farmer’s markets and sales training. The equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable. Must be adaptable to a fast-paced, schedule driven farm environment. Must also have experience connecting with various types of community partners and stakeholders.

Must possess valid Colorado Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record as this position requires driving a box truck to farm stand locations.  Previous cashiering experience in a retail setting is required along with strong computer skills involving Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong community building skills are essential.
